If Rock Was Born in the City
Zoo Lion
Soon the mess you made
Takes another shape
And you can rest your demons down upon it.
If you look for a meaning in everything
You might find
Could be right or wrong
You don’t care you just buy it
The seasons change the curtains fall
We’re here to make the best of it all.
(Chorus)
I’m not like you
Need to find my own way home
Away from all my rambling
If rock was born in the city
What would that mean for folks like you and me
And underneath all the years of sweet decay
Here to roll on
Let it roll on.
A sign of the times they’ll say
As you reach for one more day
And all these questions find ambiguous answers
It’s been so long since we’ve had a good riot
Wake up for the news
I prefer if you write it
And now we’re gone
Going to let it roll on
Just let it roll on.
(Chorus)
